All First-time Students Spring 2009

If you are a first-time student here at the University of the Virgin Islands, we are asking for your feedback about your experiences here at UVI during your first year of college. UVI is participating in a national study of first-year college students. Conducted by the Higher Education Research Institute at UCLA, this survey asks your opinion on many items relevant to examining the impact of UVI on your life. UVI receives very important information about your class from this survey, and we hope you will take the time to complete it.  

The survey is for first time students only. Please look for an customized email the week of March 16, 2009 from President LaVerne E. Ragster via YourFirstCollegeYear@datarecognitioncorp.com. Email reminders will continue until April 10, 2009 inviting your participation. We hope for a favorable response from our students because the results from this report will help to UVI improve your college experiences. But, we can’t do that unless we know which areas we need to improve or what we are doing right.

Your participation in this research is strictly voluntary. Your response or decision not to respond will not affect your relationship in any way with UVI. The data is needed in order to support a comprehensive research program. We want you to feel assured that your responses will be used for research purposes only and will be strictly confidential. No one at UVI, or at UCLA, will ever associate your individual responses with your name.
